Ten Tritons to Compete at National Swim Meets
Wolfville, NS - Ten swimmers with the Wolfville Tritons Swim Club will be competing at one of two national level swim meets over the next two weeks in Montreal, QC.
Luc Boudreau, returning from his first year of study with the Acadia Axemen Swim Team will be traveling to compete in the 2011 Swimming Canada Summer Nationals, to be held at the new Malcolm-Knox Aquatic Centre in Pointe-Claire, from July 21-24, 2011.
The following week, nine of the Tritons' age group level swimmers will be competing at the 2011 Canadian Age Group Swimming Championships, to be held at Parc Jean Drapeau in Montreal.
Hayden Adams, Kayla Boudreau, Eveline Choquette, Adam Deutsch, Ben Henger, Patrick Henger, Kristen MacPherson, Rebecca MacPherson and Kassandra Parsons will all be representing Wolfville in the 5 day long swim meet.
"This is the biggest swim meet that Canada has each year, with over 1600 swimmers from across the country in attendance," said Tritons' head coach Chris Stone.
"Wolfville has always been known as a strong competitor in Atlantic Canada, and I'm confident that we'll continue that trend as we take such a large number on to the national level," he added.
This season's number of nine qualifiers ties the record for the largest number in Tritons' club history traveling to the meet.
"We've all be training really hard for this swim meet all year, so it will be exciting to have so many of us going this year," said Tritons' captain Kristen MacPherson.
