Solid Showing by Tritons Swimmers at 2010 Summer Nationals
Victoria, BC - Three swimmers with the Wolfville Tritons Swim Club posted a number of solid performances over four days of competition in Victoria, BC at the 2010 Summer Nationals & Pan Pacific Trials.
Luc Boudreau, Nicole Campbell and Ceilidh MacPherson all attended the senior level national meet, which had over 550 competitors registered.
Boudreau, fresh on the heals of his triple medal performance at last week's Canadian Age Group Swimming Championships in Winnipeg led the way, placing in the top 30 for both the 100m and 200m breaststroke events.
"Luc posted a number of impressive performances, nearly hitting his performances from finals last week in the morning's preliminaries this week," said WTSC Head Coach Chris Stone.
"That sort of speed and consistency will do him well as he moves on to the university level of his career," Stone added.
Ceilidh MacPherson posted 100% personal bests at the meet. MacPherson will also be a competitor in the Atlantic University Sport Conference beginning this September, swimming with the Dalhousie University Tigers.
Nicole Campbell rounded out the team's performances this week with a number of solid swims of her own, though she didn't post any new personal best marks.
With the Tritons' competitive season now at a close, Stone is excited about what next season has in store.
"Though we'll certainly miss our graduates next season, our up and comers have shown a lot of versatility and I'm certain will develop into strong leaders with the club as they take the reigns beginning in September," said Stone.
