Boudreau Caps Off 2010 Canadian Age Group Swim Champs with 4th

Winnipeg, MB - Luc Boudreau of the Wolfville Tritons Swim Club finished off the 2010 Canadian Age Group Swimming Championships with a 4th place finish in the 17-18 year old boys' 200m Individual Medley, narrowly missing a bronze medal on Sunday.

The 18 year old New Minas resident swam the event in a new personal best of 2:10.91, taking off almost five full seconds from his old personal best mark.

"I was trying to run down the guy ahead of me, but at the end of it, I just ran out of pool," said Boudreau.

"I'm still very happy with the performance, and I'm looking forward to competing next week in Victoria, as well as looking at some of the senior provincial records next year with Acadia" he added, referring to the 2010 Summer Nationals and Pan Pacific Trials, hosted in Victoria, BC from July 28-31.

Boudreau will be competing with the Acadia University Varsity Axemen swim program beginning in September.

Triton teammates Hayden Adams, Sarah Lynch, Brendan Vibert and Colin Vibert all finished their events today in new personal bests, with the men's 4x100m Medley Relay of Adams, Boudreau and both Vibert brothers finishing in a new Tritons' Club Record time of 4:17.67 to for 16th place overall.

"All of our swimmers have had a terrific meet, and I'm very pleased with their results," said Tritons Head Coach Chris Stone.

"I'm sure our competitors next week will also have some impressive performances of their own in Victoria," he added.

Triton swimmers Boudreau, Nicole Campbell and Ceilidh MacPherson will all be competing next week in the senior team selection meet, beginning on Wednesday.
