Bronze Medal Finish for Boudreau at Canadian Age Group Swim Champs

Winnipeg, MB - Luc Boudreau of the Wolfville Tritons Swim Club won his third medal of the 2010 Canadian Age Group Swimming Championships on Saturday evening in Winnipeg, MB.

The 18 year old New Minas native, who will be attending Acadia University in September, won a bronze medal in the 17-18 year old boys' 200m Breaststroke with a new personal best of 2:23.37.

The medal was Boudreau's third of the meet, following two silver medal finishes in the 50m and 100m Breaststroke events earlier in the week.

"Its been a really long week of competition, so I'm happy with my performances so far," said Boudreau.

Tritons' head coach Chris Stone noted that Boudreau was the only swimmer in his age group to medal in all 3 breaststroke events.

"Its a good boost in his confidence to know that he was one of the more versatile competitors in the event as we get ready for next week's Pan Pacific Trials in Victoria," said Coach Stone.

Triton teammates Hayden Adams, Sarah Lynch, Brendan Vibert and Colin Vibert all had good showings during Saturday's racing, posting personal bests in all of their events.

Adams' lead the way with a 15th place finish in the 100m Backstroke for 15 year old boys, while Lynch and Brendan Vibert both took off time in their 200m Breaststroke events. Colin Vibert also posted a new personal best in the 200m Freestyle for his age group.

Competition concludes Sunday at the Pan Am Pool in Winnipeg, MB, with Boudreau and fellow Tritons Nicole Campbell and Ceilidh MacPherson traveling to the 2010 Summer Nationals & Pan Pacific Trials in Victoria, BC next week.
