"Mental Mondays" mental training sessions wee be starting again on Monday, March 10 2008.
The mental training sessions are optional sessions which run from 6:00-7:00pm on Monday evenings following swim practice. The sessions are open to all swimmers in the Black, Junior & Senior training squads.
With March Break almost here, WTSC would like to let its members know that all groups will continue training during the break.
With the 2008 Short Course East Coast Championships now at an end, the Wolfville Tritons put on a show of talent of a very impressive magnitude according WTSC Head Coach Chris Stone.
"The whole weekend, our goal was to hold off the whole Island," said Coach Stone, in reference to the alliance team of Prince Edward Island.
All swim parents should note that the 2007 Fitness Tax Credit Receipts for every family have been placed in their swimmer's "mailbox."
The mailboxes are a file folder with the swimmer's name on it, sorted by the squad in which the swimmers trains. The box of file folders is stored in the equipment room off of the pool deck.
All Tritons born between Jan 1 1992 and Dec 31 1995 are reminded to please fill out the Athlete Intent forms for the 2008 Eastern Canadian All Star Team, to be hosted by FNQ (Swim Quebec) at the University of Ottawa from May 7-11 2008.
Six swimmers from the Wolfville Tritons Swim Club took part in the 2008 Short Course Junior Provincial Swim Championships at Dalplex this past weekend.
Adam Deutsch, Carlena Eye, Nicole Galatis, Jeremey Ingham, Leah Salsman and Brendan Vibert all swam their way to at least one medal as the Tritons reaped 17 medals over the course of the meet.
Due to the continued snow and blowing snow conditions, all practices for WTSC for Monday, Feb 11 2008 have been canceled.
Practices will resume at normal times tomorrow, Tuesday, Feb 12, 2008.

The Wolfville Tritons will be hosting a time trial on Friday, February 8, 2008 from 4:00-6:00pm. The time trial will be open to all swimmers on the club and will last the full 2 hours for everyone.
Parents who would like to volunteer to time or officiate can contact WTSC Club President Sue Jackson at email@example.com.
The Wolfville Tritons Swim Club is pleased to announce that they will be running their pre-competitive swim program again this winter. This program is an excellent introduction to the sport of swimming, covering all four competitive strokes and other related skills.
With the re-opening of Acadia Pool, WTSC will be returning to normal on Monday, January 14 2008.
We're looking forward to seeing everyone back at the pool!

Due to the continued shut down of the pool at the Acadia Athletic Complex until Friday, January 11 2008, WTSC must alter its training schedule accordingly.

Acadia Pool has extended their re-opening from a maintenance shutdown to Friday, January 11 2008. Unfortunately, this means that regularly scheduled swim practices will not resume until this date.

This is a note to let swimmers in the Black, Junior & Senior Training Squads have an additional practice scheduled for this Sunday, December 30 from 12:00-2:00pm at Centennial Pool in Halifax.
We realize that this is a last minute addition to the schedule, but swimmers in all three groups are encouraged to attend.
All of the new Tritons Gear has arrived in time for the holidays! Orders from both the Swimwear Hut and Cajuns have come in, and will be available for pick up Friday, December 21 from 5:30-6:15pm.
Please note that due to the conclusion of Acadia University's winter exams, WTSC will be returning to its normal practice times effective Thursday, December 20.
WTSC will be training out of CFB 14 Wing Greenwood starting on Saturday, December 22.

Swim Nova Scotia is pleased to announce that it will be sending a tour team of 11-12 year old swimmers to the Little Rhody Team Specialty Meet in Rhode Island the weekend of Feb 1-3, 2008. The tour team will be open to any 11-12 year old swimmers who apply, and does not have a time standard requirement.
After 3 days of fast swimming, WTSC finished in 3rd position at the first annual Swim Nova Scotia Team Championships.
After night #1 of the Nova Scotia Team Championships, the Wolfville Tritons Swim Club is in the lead for both the women's and combined team banners.

On Wed. Dec. 19th we will be holding our annual Tritons Christmas Party following our Time Trial, from 7:00-8:30pm in the Hall of Fame Room. As is the tradition with these gatherings the party will be a potluck supper. Parents and siblings are invited to attend as well.
WTSC will be holding a club wide time trial on Wednesday, December 19. ALL TRITONS are invited to attend the full time trial from 5:00-7:00pm on Wednesday evening.
With the Christmas break almost here, WTSC would first like to wish all of its members a happy Holiday season! The White & Blue training groups will be breaking for the holidays after practice at Acadia Pool on December 21 2007, and starting back up on Monday, January 7 2008.
Diane Porskamp has been kind enough to book a block of rooms for all Tritons attending Short Course East Coasts in Charlottetown February 29 - March 2, 2008.
The rooms are at the Holiday Inn Express in Charlottetown, with room rates of $96.00 + tax per night. A block of 10 rooms for the Tritons. The hotel now offers a hot buffet breakfast included in the price.
Next weekend’s Team Champs are a new format for the provincial short course championships in Nova Scotia for swimmers 11 & over. For the first time ever in the province, we’ll be removing the "quantity" card from Halifax and Dartmouth and forcing them to compete on an even playing field with smaller clubs.
Wolfville, NS - The Wolfville Tritons Swim Club is pleased to announce that it has been awarded $2,000 for coaching education and development through the General Motors Making Dreams Possible Grant Program.
All WTSC members are reminded that the training hours for all training groups will be pushed ahead one hour for all evening practices effective December 10th due to Acadia University Christmas exams.
Training hours will run from 5:00pm to 7:00pm during this two week period. Training squads will be swimming during the following practice times:

With the return of Mental Mondays, mental training sessions for swimmers 11 & over, the WTSC website has been updated to include a section for authenticated users entitled "Training Materials."
Due to a pool closure at the Acadia Athletics Complex on the morning of Monday November 26, there will be no practice for the Senior Training Squad from 7-8am.
With the 2007-08 swim season now underway, we are seeing many new initiatives and developments in the delivery of competitive swimming in our province. As the Head Coach of the Tritons, I encourage all of our members to embrace these changes and to not be afraid of the different event calendars, meet formats, etc.
